My Nephew

I can’t contain myself! I have to tell you!

I’M AN AUNT AGAIN!!!

I’ll try to be brief so that we can get on to the pictures.

For over a week, Beth was having Braxton-Hicks contractions. While we were at my uncle’s farm, she told me she had some cramping. It was my mom, my dad, my brother and I. I told my brother I would look up home delivery on my phone and he could read the directions from the other room. Laughing out loud Beth said it was nothing, but on the two hour drive home, I noticed she would look at her phone every once in a while. Finally she admitted the contractions were six minutes apart. Once home, I helped pack the girls’ bags in case they needed to spend the night with someone else. Nothing. We don’t know why the were regular and then stopped except for two reasons. 1. Babies are on God’s time and sometimes that means regular contractions for 6 minutes and then stopping. 2. Or perhaps this picture explains better…

Not to worry, she was trying to hit a tin can. But the baby may not have liked the loud noise.

Let’s fast forward, shall we?

I got a text picture early this Wednesday morning showing me someone who arrived in the night…

First Picture

Thank you for the “aws”.

His name is Valor. He’s 8 pounds and 20 1/2” long. He was born awfully early, 4:00 A.M. Everyone is doing well, though his mom and dad would like some shut eye.

Want to see some more? Thought so.

I took the girls to the hospital and they got to see their little brother. Ariana was ready to hold him forever. I’m sure in her heart she was thinking “Let’s just take him home now and I’ll take care of him.” Chiara was full, as always, of questions. Why are you in this area? (the hospital) Daddy, why are you were that thing? (the baby bracelet thing) Can I have some water?

Me? Well, I’m in aunt heaven.

Aunt Mindy and Valor

He was fussy tonight and I calmed him down. He smells wonderfully of baby-ness, has all the right adorable tiny parts, makes perfect happy and not happy baby sounds and his lower lip quivers when he’s really going. *sigh* Pretty much him and me are each other’s favorites at the moment. Smile (ok- probably not fully on his part)

Congratulations to my brother-in-law and sister!

Welcome, Valor! It’s nice to have in our arms what our hearts have already held.

  1. That picture of Beth pre-Valor is priceless!

So Ariana looks pretty happy with her new brother...even though he isn't a sister.

Congrats Aunt! When will he get to join in on the cousin days? :)
